JavaScript Job: Junior Developer

Edenspiekermann is expanding across North America and we're beefing up our software development team working on large-scale digital projects for some of our most exciting, global clients.

We're looking for a Junior Developer who believes in an approach where strategy, aesthetics and technology intersect.

Requirements

• Proficient with reviewing and inspecting files in Figma, Sketch or similar tools
• Versed in modern TypeScript / JavaScript; React doesn't hold any secrets for you
• Excited by new CSS features and animation techniques
• Experienced with API implementation and digging in to technical documentation

• Familiar with Headless Content Management Systems, such as Contentful, DatoCMS or similar
• Basic knowledge or experience with content management platforms such Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or Contentful
• Experience with or interest in hosting infrastructure or serverless approaches such as AWS Lambda

Soft skills

• Experience working in a development team and comfortable with processes such as pull requests, code reviews, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, etc.
• Enjoy working with others and sharing knowledge through talks, hackathons or speed runs
• Eye for detail and an appreciation for graphic design and UX
• Value simplicity over complexity; easier to read code is better code
• New technologies don't scare you and you are excited to test a new framework or approach

Nice-to-haves

• Experience or interest in (native) app development
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
• Some experience with more “serious” languages such as Java, C++ or others
• Some experience with creative coding frameworks such as OpenFrameworks or Processing

Hybrid work model

One mandatory day per week in our San Francisco office and remote (within commuting distance) the remaining days of the workweek.
